Hello, my name is Karla and I’m a candy fanatic.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a killer sweet tooth for Skittles, Starburts, and my all-time favorite— gummy bears. In fact, since my son was born last September, I’ve been consuming on average a pound of gummy bears a week ! Although I do work out here and there, I know that I need to change my snacking habits for my health and to be a good example for my children.
That’s why I’m excited to take the #AveenoDailyChallenge! I’m ditching my go-to sugar fixes for healthier fruit options for the next 3 weeks. Instead of gummy bears I’ll be munching on strawberries, apples and pineapples. Plus, I plan on pampering my skin with Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion as an additional part of the challenge to keep it smooth and supple for spring.
I know omitting candy from my life won’t be easy, especially with Easter (my favorite holiday) only a couple of weeks away, but I’m committed to completing this challenge. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress.
Wish me luck!
Have you ever done a similar challenge? If so, do you have any advice for going cold turkey?
I am trying to omit processed foods and limit my bread and pasta intake. I have to get this baby weight off. You have days when you fall off the wagon. You just have start over the next day into it becomes a part of your day to day routine.
Good luck on your efforts and congrats on your new little one!! My son is 6 months and I’m still trying to get rid of that last bit of extra tummy. Now that I haven’t been eating sweets, my intake of bread has increased! Go figure.
I applaud you and I wish you extra luck around Easter…. I can’t say that I’ve ever quit eating anything, but I have lessened my intake of certain sweets ( like those heavenly Starbursts you mentioned…) The best strawberries in my opinion are the sliced organic ones from Whole Foods…. enjoy 🙂
THank you! I’m going to need all the luck in the world to keep me away from my childhood favorite treat – PEEPS!!!!!I’m going to give those sliced strawberries a try. There’s a Whole Foods that recently opened near me. I just have to stay away from their delicious mac-n-cheese! lol
