Last night I had the pleasure of attending the 6th Annual National Underwear Day fashion show at Espace here in NYC. There were sprinkles of eye candy here and there, including one of my favorite old crushes – Tyson Beckford! The event was sponsored by Freshpair.com, which is a one-stop shop for a variety of underwear brands – male and female.
Although there was a fashion show, there was also a rep from Pure Style Girlfriends on hand. I had never heard of the brand prior to the event, but it is a bra company that boasts that it’s the alternative to breast augmentation. They sell everything from strapless bras to nipple concealers; I was instantly intrigued!

I think the liners are a fabulous idea. However, you know I have a beef with companies that only have one skin color for their nipple products. What the heck is “nude” anyway? It’s not like all WG’s are the same complexion either. Hopefully they have some darker colors, otherwise, I can’t do it.
@T – Great point. I was a bit miffed that they didn’t have a SINGLE BG on their site. When will people wake up and realize that the world is quite colorful!
I did think the underarm thingy was quite clever though and the pick me up tape.

BGG! I’m mad that there were no women of color represented but happy that there are options out there. The right bra is so important when getting dressed! The pick me up tape looked amazing but for me the real problem was how I looked naked. After 3 babies and breastfeeding, surgery was the only answer. Now, could someone please tell me why we’re supposed to hide our nipples? I don’t get that. It’s a breast…breasts come with nipples. What’s the big deal if they show? I mean, I’m not saying we should pinch them before we enter the church BUT it is what it is. Sometimes they just want to stand up and be seen…so what?! HA!

I have a serious weakness for good lingerie and bras! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this post. I have purchased a couple of the items listed from Victoria Secret’s in the past. I wonder if there is a difference between the two brands. I absolutely have to try the pick me up breast tape. From the picture it looks like a breast lift without the surgery. Perfect for a dress/shirt that you can’t wear a thing underneath. Sounds good to me me!
I really should invest in those.. lol

@Makeupbyrenren – Going to events is one of the things I love the most about New York – there’s just always something going on. I’ll miss that when I eventually leave the city.
The underarm liners are genius I will definitely try those out but i’ve tried the adhesive bra (from another company) and it never stuck I never could wear it out. Maybe this one is better, but if it falls right out of your shirt don’t say I didn’t warn u!
I will have to look into their products for model shoots
