  1. My most memorable Valentine’s Day was last year. My husband and I went out for the first time in 6 years–alone. I felt ok with leaving the kids at a daycare place since they were a bit older. We did take them out for a special treat after we had a fancy dinner out. 😉

Sorry for the delayed response, I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day! I wish I could’ve been so lucky. My husband and I haven’t been out on V-Day in 5 years!! It’s hard when you have two kids. Thanks so much for sharing!

      • There is always next year. 🙂 My husband was gone this year for work so the kids and I had a box of chocolates to share and we had gone to the movies the night before. It was an old movie, Up, but we still got out of the house. My daughter, who is 3, loves to see all the dogs–when they aren’t fighting.

My most memorable Valentine’s Day was two years ago. My son desperately wanted to be included on our Valentine’s Day date so I had two dates… my husband and my then six year-old. Both of my guys got dressed up and we went out for a very nice dinner. My six year-old was a perfect gentleman. Now, we always include him on Valentine’s Day. Two dates are better than one anyway, right? 🙂

    • Brown Girl Gumbo says:

Hi Kimberly, that sounds so sweet!! Your son will always remember and cherish those special Valentine’s dates. Sorry for my delayed response. Thanks for sharing!

  3. My mom memorable Valentine’s was last year. When my boyfriend ask me to be his girlfriend with one heart shape balloon, one greeting card, and one red rose. We had known each other since we were both 10 years old. At 16 we got together but I moved away and we ended up breaking up. After 7 years of not seeing each other or hearing of each other, we ended up moving into the same apartment building. We talk for a week, and on Valentine’s day he ask me to be his girlfriend again. This Valentine’s day will be our first anniversary together. He has been my first and second boyfriend and I’m most certainly he will be my last. It is my most memorable Valentine because I knew that if you are meant to be with someone destiny will find a way to bring you back together. It may take a month or a year or even seven years, but just let God guide you and you will get there.

      Hi Silvia,

What a wonderful love story! I, too, believe that true love will always find its way back to you!! I agree, let God guide you and you will definitely get there! Btw, sorry for my delayed response. Thanks so much for sharing.

  4. My most memorable Valentine’s day is when my husband and I went on our first date in college and it happened to be on Valentine’s day. Since we just started dating, he did make reservations anywhere. We tried to get into some nice restaurants but the wait time was 3 hours. We tried Red Lobster and they had a 1 hr. wait table. So we hung out at walmart for an hour and then went to eat at Red Lobster. It was quite a funny event.

    • Brown Girl Gumbo says:

      Hi Latanya,

Ahh, college sweethearts!! My husband and I met in college too. And like you, we loved (and still do) Red Lobster!! Who can resist “Endless Shrimp” or those delicious Cheddar Bay Biscuits! Anyway, sorry for my delayed response. Thanks so much for sharing!

  5. Denise Konkel says:

I was proposed to on Valentine’s Day. In NYC..that is my most memorable one!

    • Brown Girl Gumbo says:

      Hi Denise,

Now that’s surely a memorable Valentine’s Day! Sorry for my delayed response. Thanks so much for sharing!
