It’s that time of year again when musical artists drop their CDs just in time to be added to your Christmas lists! I’m especially excited about the upcoming releases from two of my favorite artists – Beyonce and Kanye West. What artists have you been listening to lately? Are you anticipating Beyonce’s and Kanye’s CDs too? What do you think of Beyonce’s alter ego, Sasha Fierce?

Beyonce’s, “I Am…Beyonce/Sasha” double-disc will be (there’s another cover for Sasha Fierce) available in stores and on iTunes on November 17th.
Kanye West’s “808s and Heartbreak” will be available in stores and on iTunes on November 25th.

Hmm, I haven’t had the chance to really dive into any new music lately, very busy! However, when I get the chance i’m playing a variety of music. On my way to work this morning I was playing some Nirvana, I flip it back and fourth. Kanye is one of my favorite hip hop artist and I love R&B, so I will look out for that new Beyonce as well. Stay cool BGG!!
Being honest, I am not really anticipating Beyonce’s album based on her two singles. I can’t really say that I am feeling either one of them much. Love her as an artist and an actress, but I think I might have to pass on this new album.
As for Kanye, that darn voicebox machine thingie is the devil!!! I think I would appreciate the songs from his new CD more if he didn’t use that darn voice box in every song.

I suck. I haven’t even heard her new singles. Not really a mainstream listener. That new Soul men soundtrack is great though! And I’m anticipating AHamilton too. I looooove him. Happy Thursday, BGG!
I’m going to cop that Kanye because well, I’m a Chi-ca-go-AN and we have to support our own.
As far as Beyonce. Anything she puts out is going to go platinum, no matter how wack. I’m not feeling her right now. The whole I want to be an icon, I want an alter ego, really just screams look at me, I’ve got a gimmick.
She is indeed fierce, but the fact that she keeps talking about how fierce she is is bothering me.
I do, however, have that new John Legend and it’s hotness!

@Ecletik -I will DEFINITELY buy Kanye’s CD. I’m a huge fan and I’m glad that he isn’t rhyming on the 2 singles he has out now; they’re so refreshing! I’m anticipating his CD more than Beyonce’s, but I do like “If I Were a Boy.” Oh one more thing, I really enjoy Anthony Hamilton’s music too!! I didn’t know he had a new release coming out soon.
@B – I don’t listen to the radio, but I do listen to Time Warner’s Music Choice channel. I guess that could be considered mainstream.
General – I forgot to add that I am enjoying Jazmine Sullivan. Be sure to check out my interview with her from a few months ago if you haven’t already!

ewww! to beyonce. i loved her back in the “dangerously in love” days. nothing has matched that since 🙁 kanye is cool but i’m kinda falling off the hip hop wagon. i’m all about some jazmine sullivan and yes, i’ve already broken out my christmas music. i’m loving the new xmas albums by brian mcknight and ledisi 🙂
I not really anticipating hearing either of those albums. I’m not a fan of Beyonce’s new sound. Kanye should leave the autotune to T. Pain and Teddy Riley. I plan to get the new John Legend album. I hope that Maxwell will release something else.
I am not feeling Beyonce’s or Kanye’s… both are their worst project to date… Although I give Kanye a pass… def jam was pressuring him to get an album in this year so that they don’t have to go bankrupt… we all know NO money is coming out of that camp because all they have are Ne-Yo and Rihanna… for this year… so they need Kanye to drop to stay afloat… also Kanye gets a pass because he has been threw a lot this year… that on again off again engagement and the passing of his mom, so his inspiration was in a different place.
But yeah… jazmine… I can’t take her out of rotation… love it love it. The other album I have in heavy rotation are Foreign Exchange.

I am not a big music buyer, but dammit I can hardly wait for the new Kanye West cd…I love him! Incidentaly, the last cd i bought was Kanye’s last one.

I only like Beyonce the actress, her music doesn’t do it for me. As far as Christmas albums go I’d really like to get Enya’s new album.
1. there is nothing fierce about sasha, ive heard the cd and am not impressed. however, like all her albums, it will grow on me
2. i am probably the only person who has never gotten a kanye cd. i will continue to be that person
3. im listening to john legend and tpain right now. i have to say i normally would ignore tpain but someone asked me to give the guy a chance. im not too upset about doing so.

I know that we all feel that Beyonce has been overplayed but we need to give it to the girl. She is pretty and she is using all that she has. Do I like her music I do specially at the gym. I’m looking forward to Kanye cd I just read a review and they gave him a plus. Another new cd is Seal have not head it but the review was a b+.
I just bought the new John Legend “Evolver” and it is a great CD. I love his style as an artist/songwriter.
On the topic of Beyonce, I don’t feel she has really progressed with the two singles she’s promoting so I won’t be buying her new ablum.
I’m still stuck on JHud’s new CD. And I’m still tryiing to get into John Legend’s new CD.

Beyonce’s new album cover reminds me of the early 90’s Album Covers (like Vanessa Williams and EnVogue), her album is one my christmas list. I’ve heard alot about Jazmine Sullivan, so I might check her out (her voice is great).

Radio, Halo, Hello and Broken Hearted Girl (In that order)… Honestly… I think I’m gonna pass on purchasing this time around…
