Now that the new year is rapidly approaching, why not pick up a few journals for yourself and others this holiday season?
At the start of each year I try to write my personal thoughts and reflections in a journal. I credit my mom for instilling in me the importance of the written word. She’s kept a journal throughout most of her life. Me on the otherhand, I’m not as consistent, but I do have several journals.
Actually, journal writing doesn’t have to be consistent or contain certain thoughts. All that matters is that you write down exactly how you feel at that particular moment in time. From random thoughts to a rant about an annoying co-worker at your office, journals are your personal space to vent and reflect.
I recently read one of my journals from college and found it to be quite funny and entertaining. Although at the time, my circumstances were far from humorous. The affairs that were going on in my life during that time are totally irrelavant now, but it was fun and interesting to read years later.
So head to your nearest Papyrus or local stationery store to buy a journal. They make great stocking stuffers!

girl i keep a journal… but did not know they had some that were so expensive
LOL, I’m with Ebonne..if someone tried to steal that…to hell with what’s INSIDE the journal. Imma have to catch a case for the mere fact that the journal costs $70! Haha…my cheap ass. I’ve been an avid journal writer since I was in the 3rd grade. Let’s not forget blogging. The electronic journal of our time.
beautiful journals!
I agree, some of the journals I posted are a bit expensive. If you’re a BG on a budget or just don’t want to shell out that much money for some nicely bound paper, head to your local Borders or Barnes & Noble for a wide variety of affordable journals. I know they exist because I’ve bought a few from there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any pretty ones online to include in my lineup. Happy Writing!! 🙂
I have always been afraid to write my thoughts on paper in fear of someone reading them and knowing my deep dark secrets. I would just die if someone discovered……I almost gave it up.
The journals are beautiful. I try to consistently write in a journal but I can never keep it up. I have mad journals, man!
Just like Divine said, blogging is the electronic journal of our time.
When my mom passed away, I was faced with the task of going through her things. I discovered several of her journals and was very pleased to read not only about her true feelings about situations happening in her life but she had written down prayers about me and my sister. It was so touching and so priceless. It inspired me to do the same for my kiddos!
