Last year when I interviewed celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen whose clients include Rihanna, she told me that there was one key to keeping locks looking lovely and healthy – conditioning. Generally conditioners are used to help prevent heat damage, moisturize, gloss, de-tangle, and smooth our strands. My absolute favorite conditioner is Pantene’s Relaxed & Natural Intensive Moisturizing Conditioner. It always leaves my smelling good, looking shiny and more manageable.
What are some of your favorite conditioners? How often do you deep condition your hair? Check out some of these:
Pantene Relaxed & Natural Intensive Moisturizing Conditioner available at www.drugstore.com for $5.99
Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner available at www.walgreens.com for $6.99
Philosophy Strawberry Milkshake Conditioner, Shampoo, Body Gel available at www.sephora.com for $16
Ted Gibson Clarity Color Conditioner available at www.blissworld.com for $26
Creme De La Curl Conditioner available at www.missjessies.com for $16
Dr. Miracle’s Feel it Formula Hot Gro Hair & Scalp Treatment Conditioner available at www.walgreens.com for $8.49
the pantene is what I use and I agree..I love it.
I have no idea what my stylist uses. LOL.
@Rebee – You never condition your hair at home? I wish I could go to the salon more often, but I just hate it soooo much.
I love aveda dry remedy conditioner!
I use Burt’s Bees Raspberry and Brazil Nut Conditioner for regular conditioning. For detangling I use Garnier Sleek and Shine Deep Conditioning Treatment or this awesome conditioner from Trader Joe’s that’s about 2.50 for 16 oz., which is like 1/3 of what I generally pay for conditioner (Can’t remember the name of it though)
Good post!
The Pantene is awesomeeeeeeee. I use it on my nieces hair and it leaves her hair so fantasic.
Since discoverying I was a natural, I have moved over to more natural and organic products in my hair. I recently started using solely carol’s daughters products (this would be a great post BG!!) and I can’t even put into words the difference I see and feel in my hair. Her products are amazing, and completely natural. My hair has more sheen, length, and it smells soooooo good. Love it much!
@Glo – Yes, I loooove Carol’s Daughter products too and I don’t even wear my hair natural. I am doing a post on her shower gels next week. I love her hair milk too!
I use Pantene conditioner. I would like to try the Dr. Miracle’s, but the commercials are so ridiculous that I’m afraid.
I like the Karens Body beautiful conditioner, Shescentit, Giovanni, the olive one you posted on and so many more..lol Ordering more tonight.
thanks for the post.

i love that YES TO CARROTS one u gave me
I need to used condition every day otherwise my hair gets very dried. My favorite brand is Crede ER Treatment which I get through my hair dresser but it’s a bit expensive. But when I’m out of it I use Tresemme.
i very very very rarely do my own hair at home but on the rare occasion when i do i have the first two you listed. the olive oil one was suggested to me by my stylist. i’ve also wanted to try the aveda line.
i have no clue what she uses on me though.
BGG, I hate the salon so I do my own hair very often. My absolute favorite is Cream of Nature. I’ve tried other products but I always go back to Cream of Nature. It leaves my hair unbelievably soft and manageable. Whatever it is my hairstlyist uses works too but apparently it’s an ancient Chinese secret. I suspect it’s Cream of Nature in a generic Dollar Store bottle! Seriously!
My stylist uses Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense-Thick. I also get great results with this when I use it at home.
Ojon’s deep conditioner is also good.
You know there’s one thing that I discovered about hair conditioners…they all work the same. Even though I realize this, I still always buy the more expensive brands thinking that they will condition my hair better. So far, I haven’t seen any difference between conditioners I’ve paid under $8 for (like Pantene) and conditioners I paid over $30 for (Aveda).
Olive Oil Products really work. Great!
I am a pantene girl…
Great products and great article…
thanks

GREAT POST BGG! I have gone natural in the past two years and I am really experimenting with conditioners. I wanted to ask if you know of some ones for curly hair that are affordable. I have heard of Miss Jessie’s for curly hair but can’t afford that right now. Also I love Carol’s Daughter, but her line is a bit pricey if you buy everything you need to have a great curl. Any suggestions?
Thanks 😉
I’ve never tried deep conditioning my hair, I ‘ve never been able to find a good conditioner though so I might have to give one a try.
